What do you do?
I am the Special Events Manager at Diabetes UK. I work closely with the relationships team and the corporate team planning and implementing a variety of cultivation and fundraising events.

What is it like to work for Diabetes UK?

Diabetes UK is a great place to work. The people are fun, the office location is good and the cause we all work for is an important one.

Where did you come from, when and why did you join Diabetes UK?

Prior to working at Diabetes UK, I was at drama school doing a postgraduate degree in acting. I never intended on staying this long! However the flexibility that Diabetes UK allows works really well for me. I have also worked at the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK.

What benefits are there that come from working at Diabetes UK?

There are a number of benefits that we can take advantage of at Diabetes UK. Flexi time is a great one and one that allows us to create more of a work/life balance or pursue other interests/training.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy the variety of my job the most. I enjoy working with people towards a shared goal - be that volunteers on my events committees, celebrities taking part in our events or speakers who are highlighting the urgency of our cause.
