Over 150 new recipes to liven up Christmas

To help you enjoy Christmas even more this year, Diabetes UK has added 150 new recipes to its popular online recipe finder.

With dozens of mouth watering festive dishes to spice up the holiday season, we have also added a handy voting counter to each recipe.

So now as well as rating a recipe, you can also see how many other people have voted for the recipe too; giving you a picture of how popular (or unpopular) a recipe is, based on the overall rating by users.

From roast turkey with fruity stuffing, home-made Christmas pudding, low-fat chocolate, sultana and cinnamon rice pudding and wonderfully simple liver pâté - plus scores of other delicious year-round dishes - there is plenty on offer to liven up the taste buds.

Rating counter

As well as a rating counter, all the recipes come with at-a-glance nutritional information, so you can instantly see the energy, protein, carbohydrate and fat content contained in each dish.

Low-fat alternatives

Many of the dishes are low-fat alternatives to traditional recipes, so you can indulge in your favourite dish without piling on the pounds.

If you are looking for helpful tips and advice on getting the most out of the festive season, or for those catering for people with diabetes, take a look at our festive food guide found on the right hand column of this page.

Watch this space

There are plans in place to expand and develop the recipe finder even further in order to offer you even more useful tools.

Diabetes UK wishes you a very merry Christmas.
