Backpacker with diabetes launches Diabetes UK into world of blogs
30 September 2008
The Web team at Diabetes UK is very excited to announce that the first blog to be launched on the Diabetes UK website is 'Josh's travel blog.'
"My name is Josh and I've been asked to write about my experiences travelling with diabetes," Josh introduces himself in his travel blog.
"I've been a diabetic for five years, easily long enough to encounter any problem in regular, everyday life. But now I'm going to be travelling for seven months. As Americans would say, it's a whole new ball game."
Josh
Josh, in his early twenties with Type 1 diabetes, is travelling the Trans Siberian Express, via St Petersburg (Pictured), on to Thailand and beyond. He will be giving us regular accounts of his travels and how he has managed his diabetes whilst travelling.
"I am really pleased to be able to launch this as our first blog," said Alex McDonald, Website Editor. "Josh has a great writing style and gives a good mix of travel anecdotes and accounts of managing his diabetes in new circumstances. There is also the facility for people to add their own comments and I hope that this encourages discussions and inspires people to live their own dreams."
