European Recommendations on Eyesight and visual impairment group Dec 2005/Jan 2006
Diabetes UK welcomes the recognition of the lack of evidence with regard to visual acuity, driving safety and development of appropriate and effective testing methods as this will impact on people with diabetes and their right and ability to drive. The recommendations highlight the gaps in the evidence and in principle we support the conclusions drawn, recognising the need for further research and work in terms of practical implementation.
