Department of Health: Our Health, Our Care, Our Say. White Paper 'A new direction for community services" Consultation Response - Oct 2005
We welcome the opportunity to respond to this consultation and hope that our comments will feed in to the forthcoming White Paper. The issue that was overwhelmingly supported by people with diabetes in this consultation was the necessity to prioritise structured education programmes and the need for them to be made available to all people with diabetes, specific to their needs. Diabetes UK advocates that all people with diabetes, whether recently diagnosed or those with pre-existing diabetes should receive the education and support they need to enable them to manage their own diabetes.
