Behind the scenes blog

Deborah Christie is a consultant clinical psychologist at the University College London Hospital and is a newcomer to the APC Organising Committee.

She has actively worked on the committee to build sessions, contributed heavily in developing a lively and stimulating programme for the APC and invited speakers and chairs to the conference.

She enthusiastically volunteered to launch this blog as a way to uncover what is going on behind the scenes of the Diabetes UK annual professional conference  (APC).This key conference for those working in the field of diabetes attracts up to 3,000 healthcare professionals each year.

Each month, Deborah has given an insider's view of organising the conference such as building sessions and selecting abstracts.

Now that APC 2009 is over, Deborah continues her blog looking forward to APC 2010 and the planning behind our flagship event being held for the first time at the ACC (Arena and Convention Centre) in Liverpool.
