Deborah Christie is a consultant clinical psychologist at the University College London Hospital and is a newcomer to the APC Organising Committee.
She has actively worked on the committee to build sessions, contributed heavily in developing a lively and stimulating programme for the APC and invited speakers and chairs to the conference.
She enthusiastically volunteered to write thisblog as a way to uncover what is going on behind the scenes of the Diabetes UK annual professional conference (APC).This key conference for those working in the field of diabetes attracts up to 3,000 healthcare professionals each year.
Each month, Deborah will give an insider's view of organising the conference such as building sessions and selecting abstracts.
She also gave an insight into the content itself, in the hope of prompting discussion and questions on issues relevant to paediatricians and psychologists, but also featuring a range of specialities through other members of the organising committee.
