The ACC Liverpool is located right on the banks of the River Mersey within the re-developed dockland area of the city centre. Due to its central location and for having some of Liverpool's most popular tourist attractions nearby, it is well served by local public transport and is within walking distance of a number of hotels.
Below lists detailed information on travelling to Liverpool, how to get to the ACC Liverpool and navigating your way around the city. All delegates who pre-register for the conference will also receive a location map as part of their confirmation.
By train
By far the easiest way to travel to Liverpool within mainland UK is by train. Virgin Trains run every hour from London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street with a journey time of just over 2 hours. Liverpool Lime Street is also served by Northern Rail for stations in the North of England and locally by Mersey Rail. Call National Rail enquiries on 08457 48 49 50 for up to date timetable and fare information or plan your journey via their website here.
The ACC is a 20 minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street or a short taxi ride will get you there for around £5 - £8. Other options are to transfer onto the underground train to James Street station on the Wirral Line which is included in the price of your train ticket bringing you within a 10 minute walk of the ACC Liverpool; or from here you can catch the CityLink C4 bus which drops you off at the ACC Liverpool itself for a flat fare of £1.
Follow the link to the Merseytravel website for full details on local rail and bus services in the related information box.
By bus
Most Liverpool city centre buses stop at Paradise Street Interchange which is a 5 minute walk away to the ACC Liverpool or Queen Square bus station being a 10 minute walk away. The CityLink C4 bus (Dingle circular) stops right next to the ACC Liverpool calling at Queens Square bus station, James Street station and Liverpool One along where most hotels are situated. The C4 runs every 20 minutes from 6.30am until 8.20pm.
Full information on bus routes, fares and timetables can be found on the Merseytravel website in the related information box or call the travel line on 0871 200 22 33 between 8am-8pm.
By air
Liverpool John Lennon Airport (airport code JLA) is around a 20 minute taxi ride away from the ACC Liverpool and main city centre. Taxi charges are within the region of £15 - £20.
A cheaper alternative is the AirLink 500 bus with the express service only taking around 25 minutes to the ACC Liverpool / city centre and runs every 30 minutes. If you are going straight to the ACC Liverpool from the airport, alight at Paradise Street Interchange where it is a 5 minute walk. Otherwise, the route takes you through Liverpool covering many of the hotels located around the city (check before you board as the express service only serves limited stops including the Crowne Plaza Liverpool hotel). Visit the Merseytravel website (link in the related information box) for bus timetable information.
Delegates arriving from Northern Ireland
Scheduled flights to JLA operate from Belfast International (six a day), Belfast City (twice a day) and City of Derry airport (once a day).
More information on airline operators and flight information from Isle of Man, the Channel Islands and other UK airports can be found on the destination pages of the JLA website here.
By coach
Long distance coach operators terminate at the coach station on Norton Street. A location map can be found here. Catch the 53A bus from Norton Street to Paradise Street Interchange to be within a 5 minute walk of the ACC (overall journey time 21 minutes).
