X-PERT courses for Type 2 diabetes in Wrexham

The Patient Education Initiative for patients with Type 2 Diabetes (X-PERT) is a free six week programme for people with type 2 diabetes to increase knowledge skills and confidence in managing diabetes.

The course focuses on management of diabetes, prevention of its long term effects, healthy eating and exercise, carbohydrate awareness and gives participants the opportunity to explore and address problems or issues that they may have with their diabetes. A supportive friend or partner is welcome to come along too.
X-Pert is available in morning, afternoon and evening sessions at Chirk Hospital, Brynteg Memorial Hall, Cartrefle Community Council Buildings and in the town centre at Ty Avow. The courses start to coincide with the start of school term times.
