HOW TO HOLD YOUR EVENT

1. A Venue Fit for Vampires

Choose your venue. Is there a local gym, community hall or school where you could hold the event? These are usually free or cheap to hire with facilities such as toilets and parking, and are already known to the local community.

 2. Monster Marketing

- Petrifying Posters

Design your poster with our Zombie inspired poster template and place them in hot sports around your venue - anywhere from the venue's noticeboard to local supermarkets and pubs. Down load you poster from the top right of this page (don't have a printer? Then we will happily send you some posters).

- Electrifying Invitations

Create 'invitations' to your event and sent them to members of your dance group, friends and family or event post them through neighbours' doors. If you have e-mail, why not send an enchanting e-mail inviting your whole address book to join in the fun?

- Don't Fear Facebook

If you use Facebook or any other social media, why not create a group and invite people to join? This is a great way to create excitement about the event and get people talking beforehand.

- Magical Media

Put a spell on the public by sending an enchanting and inviting press release to local newspapers and radio stations. Let them know what you are doing, why and when. This will help entice more people to attend and publicise your local group in the process.

3. Secure Some Slaves

Ask colleagues, friends and family to help. Why not task one person with securing some prizes from local businesses for a spooky raffle or prizes for best costume?

4. Spellbinding Sponsorship

Make sure everyone has a sponsorship form and information about creating an online giving page. The sooner they start raising money the better chance you have of riaisng that frightening amount of money for our cause.

5. Devilish Decoration

If you have the time, why not transform your venue into a petrifying place with a party atmosphere? We cansupply each organiser with balloons to decorate your venue.

6. Say Thank You

After the fabulous sucess of your sponsored 'Zombie Zumbathon' be sure to thank everyone who took part or helped you organise it, expressing your thanks and telling them how much you raised in aid of Diabetes UK.

We love to hear from our supporters, so don't forget to let us know when your event is being held so we can support you along the way.
