Virgin London Marathon 2014

The London Marathon is now recognised as the greatest city-centre marathon in the world and is the largest fundraising event on the planet – runners have raised over £500 million for good causes since the race began in 1981.
It is an extremely important fundraising event for Diabetes UK, with our amazing runners raising over £200,000 every year to further our develop our work.

Charity Applications
We have charity places available for Virgin London Marathon 2014 and would love to have you join Team Diabetes UK.
Our system is NOW OPEN until 19th September 2013 for you to complete your application and give your reasons for wanting one of our charity places.
The places are not allocated until October 2013 for the following year’s marathon, so you will not hear back on whether you had been successful until October, after the official ballot has been announced.
We have around 600 applications every year for 65 places, so it makes for some very difficult decisions as to who should be offered a place!
Official Ballot Applications
Unfortunately, the official ballot system is now closed.
Successful applicants will be notified by Virgin in October 2013.
If you are lucky enough to secure your own place through the ballot; we would love to have you as part of our team, with no fundraising minimum. Please contact us for more information.
2013 Withdrawals
For those who were successful in the 2013 official ballot and had to withdraw from the race; you should have completed the online 'ill or injured' entry form by 21 of June 2013.
