About the event

Lead out the greats when you take on a cycling challenge like no other through the closed roads of London and the Surrey Hills in August 2014. Just hours before the world’s top cyclists race the Prudential RideLondon Classic, 20,000 cyclists will have the chance to cycle a modified version of the London 2012 Olympic Road Race.

Celebrating the legacy for cycling created by London 2012, Prudential RideLondon-Surrey100 will start in the new Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, then follow the closed roads through the capital and onto Surrey’s stunning country roads and hills. With leg-testing climbs and a route made famous by the world’s best cyclists, this promises to be truly spectacular event for all involved.

The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 is a perfect ride for club & recreational cyclists. Slower cyclists can enjoy a challenging ride while faster riders will relish the opportunity to pit themselves against the country’s top amateurs.

Guaranteed Charity Places

Diabetes UK has a number of guaranteed places and is now taking applications. You can apply for a place by clicking the button below. Applications will be accepted until 30th October and we will let you know in early November if you have been successful in gaining a place.

In the meantime, we strongly recommend you also enter the official ballot, which opens on 12th August. If you are offered a Diabetes UK place and subsequently also get a place through the ballot, we will then offer your Diabetes UK place to another cyclist. You will still be able to join Team Diabetes UK, it just means we can have the biggest team possible!

All Diabetes UK Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 cyclists (guaranteed and own place) will receive support all the way including:

  • A Diabetes UK cycle jersey
  • A fundraising pack full of tips and advice
  • Cheering points along the route
  • Unlimited support from the Events Fundraising team
  • A post-race celebratory reception

Own Places

If you have entered the ballot you will find out in February if you have been successful. If you are lucky enough to get a place in this way you can still join Team Diabetes UK and we'd love to have you on board. Just get in touch to let us know you have a ballot place and we will support you with all of the above.
