Take up the challenge of walking 40 miles, in approximately 24 hours, across the North York Moors in 2013 and support Diabetes UK every step of the way.
This new challenge for 2013 is ideal for anyone wanting to do something a little different or push themselves that little further. The 40 mile walk across the North Yorkshire Moors offers walkers stunning views along the length of the path (during daylight) whilst allowing you to enjoy the great outdoors in all its splendour.
The start point is from a stone at the top end of Cod Beck Reservoir above Osmotherley, and the finish is at a trig point near the Ravenscar Beacon. The walk is led by a qualified Mountain Leader who has completed the walk on a number of occasions.
Places are limited so reserve your place early and start your training. There is a £50.00 non refundable deposit tp pay and can be booked direct through the Lyke Wake Walk website.
We would love to know your reasons for taking part in this event and why you support the work of Diabetes UK. If you would be interested in speaking to a member of our Media Team, please contact the office at the contact details above, or fill in the 'Share your story' form at the right-hand side of this page. Sharing your story greatly helps us to raise vitally needed awareness of diabetes.
Osmotherley is approx miles from Northallerton and approx 2 miles from the A19.

If you think the challenge is not for you, then why not consider volunteering on the day? We are looking for keen and enthusiastic individuals and groups to cheer our walkers on along the route and welcome them back at the finish line. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact the office for further details.
