Diabetes Campaigners Network

The Diabetes Campaigners Network (DCN) works to improve services for people with diabetes and end discrimination against them.

The DCN is made up of thousands of people who take part in Diabetes UK’s national campaigns on issues such as retinal screening, insulin pumps, access to blood testing strips and support for children with diabetes in schools.

DCN members are also empowered by Diabetes UK to run their own campaigns on specific local issues.

Why campaign for people with diabetes?

Fact: Diabetes is serious and can significantly increase your risk of heart attacks, strokes, blindness and other complications.

The NHS needs to make diabetes a priority and ensure that people with diabetes are getting the care and treatment they deserve.

Lack of understanding about diabetes and how serious it is can lead to discrimination against people with diabetes. A greater understanding of diabetes among employers and schools, for example, will help improve the lives of people with diabetes.
