All-Party Parliamentary Group for Diabetes (APPG Diabetes)

The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Diabetes works in Parliament to raise the profile of diabetes and its prevention, to monitor new initiatives, and to work to ensure a better deal for people with diabetes.

Our commitment is to look into issues of interest and importance to people with diabetes, their carers, healthcare professionals and the NHS.

The issues we investigate are wide ranging: from access to retinal screening services to the early identification of people with Type 2 diabetes, and discrimination against people with diabetes in the workplace or at school.

Attendees at our meetings include MPs and Peers, healthcare professionals, user representatives, people with diabetes and representatives from voluntary organisations.

The APPG Diabetes Secretariat is provided jointly by Diabetes UK and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. However, as with all All Party Parliamentary Groups, it is independent of its secretariat.
