Alexandra Burke

Alexandra Burke - Diabetes UK supporter

Diabetes UK supporter Alexandra Burke

Alexandra Burke, winner of X Factor 2008, supports the work of Diabetes UK as her mother has Type 2 diabetes, and her grandmother also had the condition.

With both her mother and grandmother affected by diabetes, X Factor winner Alexandra Burke knows all too well the impact that the condition can have.

That's why she supports Diabetes UK's Children's Charter, and My Voice campaign - a campaign aimed at young people with diabetes, providing them with support they vitally need and opportunities to get involved with our work.

I fully support Diabetes UK's My Voice network because I really believe that young people have the power to make a difference. The fantastic thing about the Diabetes UK My Voice network is that young people will not only help campaign for real improvements but will have the chance to develop and learn skills, meet new people and have fun doing it too.
