Cheryl Fergison is best known for her role on popular TV soap EastEnders, playing Heather Trott. Cheryl has Type 2 diabetes and supports Diabetes UK in various ways – all helping to raise awareness, and vital funds, for the charity.

Cheryl has taken part in promoting our Care for a Cuppa fundraising initiative, given an exclusive interview to Balance magazine, and also supports our Get Serious campaign.

I didn’t take my diabetes too seriously to begin with and tried to sweep it under the carpet – I thought it was something that could be cured. I really started to take this condition seriously when I began to feel the effects in my feet. I do hope Diabetes UK can find a cure one day.
