In 2005, Alliance Pharmacy, a major community healthcare company chose Diabetes UK to be their charity of the year and raised over £90,000.

Fundraising with Alliance Pharmacy actually began in November 2004 with the Maisy Mouse pin badge appeal and all pharmacies nationwide had Diabetes UK collecting tins throughout 2005. The Bussage branch of Alliance Pharmacy was awarded the Alliance Pharmacy charity shield for the branch that raised the most money throughout the partnership.

"Alliance Pharmacy is delighted to work in partnership with Diabetes UK to help raise awareness of diabetes and help to promote a healthy lifestyle message by working together. Our entire workforce are proud to have played their part for Diabetes UK in 2005 and will continue to support them going forward," said Roger Cotton, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, Alliance Pharmacy.
