Diabetes UK is one of three charities set to benefit from the fundraising efforts of HBOS colleagues, customers and shareholders during 2008.
Since the partnership launched in January, £2million has already been raised - a truly remarkable achievement.
The first £1million will go to the lead charity, CLIC Sargent, and the rest will be split equally between CLIC Sargent, Diabetes UK and Age Concern. The partnership has the potential to raise over £1 million for Diabetes UK alone, which would be our largest corporate partnership donation ever.
The £1million will be used to fund five mobile educational vans to screen, inform and advise 1.5million people about diabetes over two years. The educational centres will be able to reach all the corners of the UK, especially where the risk is highest and go directly to the people who need our help, whoever they are.
