Partnerships Event 2008

The Diabetes UK Partnerships Event 2008 took place at the Tate Modern on the Southbank on 15 April. With 200 corporate partners, trusts, foundations, parliamentarians and companies in attendance this event continues to grow on a huge scale.

The Tate Modern, with a picturesque view of the London skyline, was the perfect setting to toast our joint achievements and share our vision for the future.

Whether through sponsorship, staff fundraising, cause-related marketing, gifts or grants, Diabetes UK’s partners play a critical role in enabling the charity to provide quality support and information to people with diabetes while raising awareness of the condition to those at risk.

Douglas Smallwood, Diabetes UK Chief Executive and Penny Mordaunt, Director of Strategy, Policy and Partnerships both gave highly engaging speeches addressing the huge progress that has been made and the journey ahead.  Two emotive films produced by Diabetes UK were also screened allowing partners to visualise the impact that their partnership with us has made.

An overwhelming energy and buzz was apparent at the event, this being down to the huge sense of collective achievement and a commitment to the dynamic vision ahead combined with fine wine and tasty canapés.
