Our first project was to create a really useful tool to support patients with diabetes – to better manage their condition.
I like to get involved as much as I can; I find it all very inspirational and interesting, as well as being very satisfying.
It was an exciting, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, to visit the Houses of Parliament and to have the chance to tell my story to influential people.
We need to encourage more diabetes patients to help promote a public awareness of the disease; too many still think it will go away and it doesn't matter. It does!
