Support our 15 healthcare essentials campaign
There is a minimum level of healthcare that every person with diabetes deserves and should expect. In 2011 Diabetes UK launched its 15 healthcare essentials campaign to raise awareness of the right care that is essential for the wellbeing of all people with diabetes.
Diabetes Voices have been working hard to distribute copies of the simple patient checklist leaflet, Diabetes – what care you should receive (PDF, 164KB), to healthcare professionals, GP practices, hospitals, NHS organisations and local Diabetes UK groups. Please help us to keep the campaign alive – here are a number of ways you can help:
- Ask your GP practice manager to keep a stock of the leaflets - email diabetesvoices@diabetes.org.uk and we’ll send you copies to share with your local contacts.
- Spread the word by telling your friends, family and healthcare team about the 15 healthcare essentials.
- If you’re involved with your local NHS, talk about the 15 healthcare essentials at your next meeting. Ask the Chair of the meeting how you can get access to information about the standards of care in your area.
