Implementing Local Diabetes Networks
Help improve diabetes services by getting commissioners, healthcare professionals and people with diabetes working together in a local diabetes network.
Diabetes UK has produced a new guidance document for commissioners. It provides guidance and support needed to create a local diabetes networks that can deliver high-quality, cost-effective care through the effective commissioning, delivery and monitoring of services.
This guide was recently sent to all NHS commissioners. If you are part of a Local Diabetes network, please ensure commissioners in the group have seen this document.
If you're not sure if there is a Local Diabetes Network where you live, speak with your healthcare professional to find out if one exists. If there isn’t one in your area you could send them a copy of the guide along with a letter stating why you feel your local NHS needs one.
