National Diabetes Audit (NDA) Patient summary published
Diabetes UK has recently published an NDA summary report, "Quality Diabetes Care: Are services in England measuring up?" (PDF, 601KB)
Each year, the National Diabetes Audit (NDA) collects information from GP practices and hospitals about their services for people with diabetes. This report summarises the key findings from the national NDA report for England, and is for people with diabetes and the general public. A separate booklet is available for Wales (PDF, 601KB).
Diabetes UK met and talked to people with diabetes to ask what audit information they wanted to see and how it should be presented. This publication is based on their feedback.
The booklet explains the national guidelines for good quality care, the main findings from this year’s NDA, and provides recommendations for improvements to diabetes care.
Take action
The National Diabetes Audit report highlights the numbers of people receiving the essential healthcare checks each year.
Using information from the report and using the new Diabetes Watch online tool, you can see how your area measures up. You can then use the information to challenge decision-makers to make sure that more people get the key checks, and to help improve the quality of services.
