Together we can bring about real change
Last year, members of Diabetes UK helped to collect £60,000 for our coin box appeal in the months leading up to Diabetes Week - thank you so much.
It’s only with your generous support for activities such as these appeals that we’re able to carry on working to improve the lives of people with diabetes.
Please support this year’s coin box appeal as generously as you possibly can.

Every little helps bring our vision of a future without diabetes even closer. Please remember that even if you collect just £4 a month, for example, that adds up to a £16 donation for Diabetes Week (13-19 June).
If you then Gift Aid your donation, that £16 will become £20.48 at no extra cost to you. Please download the gift aid form and send it back to us with your donation.
- We currently also support around 120 research projects
- In the last nine years, donations of all sizes have helped us fund over £55m worth of vital research into both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes
- We continue to campaign for better diabetes care
- Every year, the Diabetes UK Careline team provides information and confidential support to around 35,000 people
Only with your support can we continue to make a difference to people like Liz who are living with diabetes right now; or help the 17 people who will be diagnosed with diabetes within the next hour and support the 400 people who will be diagnosed tomorrow. Thank you so much.
The vital research, care and campaigning work we fund is only possible because of the generous support of members like you. 54 year-old Liz Blackwell is one member who is especially grateful for Diabetes UK’s help. Liz’s daughter, Karen, explains:
Karen and Liz's story
Mum had been feeling a bit run down for a while and that’s all we thought it was, so it was a huge shock when we were told three years ago that she had Type 2 diabetes.
With the help of her diabetes specialist nurse and information from Diabetes UK though, we worked together to help change her diet and lifestyle and today she leads a much healthier life.
We found the information on the Diabetes UK website really invaluable. I hadn’t realised, for instance, how important it is for people with diabetes to look after their feet, so that’s something we now regularly check.
As a family, we’re determined to stay positive and we keep up to date with all the latest advances that Diabetes UK continues to make in Research matters. It’s reassuring to know they’re working so hard to develop better treatments for people like mum and, of course, that their ultimate goal is to work towards a future without diabetes. That’s what we all hope and pray for.
Every day and every amount counts in our effort to improve lives. Thank you.
