Regular Giving
Care for Today. A Cure for Tomorrow.
Diabetes UK is the largest organisation in the country working for people with diabetes – funding research, campaigning and helping people live with the condition.
Throughout the year we rely on people like you to support our vital care and information services, our campaigning work and the many research projects around the UK, which depend on our funding. With your help we can improve the lives of people living with the condition today and work towards a future without diabetes.
As a Regular Giving supporter, you can choose whether your contributions support our research projects or all of Diabetes UK's work.
Research
Regular Giving raises funds for diabetes research into:
- causes of diabetes
- genetics of diabetes
- secretion and action of insulin
- control of diabetes
- prevention and treatment of diabetes complications
- treatment and care of people with diabetes
- psychology of caring for diabetes.
Research programmes can take years to reach completion. Even then, new drugs and treatments must undergo stringent clinical trials and refinements before being made available to the public.
By joining Regular Giving and making monthly contributions, you will be helping to ensure that Diabetes UK has the ongoing funds needed to provide our services and invest in vital research, by providing ongoing funds needed to support these vital, life-enhancing programmes.
All of Diabetes UK's work
Regular Giving contributions also help to fund other Diabetes UK work, such as working closely with healthcare professionals, the government and the NHS to make sure that every person living with diabetes has equal access to the highest standards of care and the treatment that's right for them.
We're always looking for new ways to improve care – we work with healthcare professionals to improve the care offered to people with diabetes. Encouraging GPs and practice nurses to take an active role in delivering quality diabetes care is just one of the ways we are bringing higher standards of support into the heart of communities around the UK.
Following concerted and consistent campaigning by Diabetes UK, a National Service Framework for diabetes has now been introduced throughout the UK.
Regular Giving contributions also fund Diabetes UK's Careline service, which is an invaluable source of support and information for thousands of people with diabetes and provides vital information to newly diagnosed people. Our Careline team can be contacted on 0845 120 2960 Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
