Changing a will
Changing a will is so simple
Whenever there are any significant changes in your circumstances, you should review your will - it’s a great opportunity to amend it and include a gift to a charity at the same time.
There are lots of reasons why you might want to amend an existing will, from the birth of a grandchild to a financial windfall.
To make several changes to your will, it’s best to have a new will drawn up. For straightforward changes, your solicitor can add a codicil to your will - a legal document which describes the amendment you’d like to make.
“We have no children of our own or close relatives but I hope that our contributions will benefit children and save them from the turmoil that I went through when I was diagnosed.”
Clifford Walker (who has had Type 1 diabetes since he was 8 years old) and his wife Doreen kindly decided to amend their will to include a legacy to Diabetes UK.
