Social media

Diabetes UK has branched out into all the main social media sites over the past 18 months, in an effort to reach the people who need us - by setting up pages on the sites they use every day.

"Facebook is not only a new place to promote fundraising and awareness-raising events, and share news stories, information or developments in diabetes care," said Amanda Neylon, Digital Media Manager at Diabetes UK.

"Our presence on the social networking site, and in other forms of social media, has also helped us to reach new audiences and engage in dialogue with our supporters. This way, we can offer even more people with diabetes, their friends and relatives, the chance to share their experiences of living with diabetes and to offer advice and support to one another."
