A new way to fundraise for Diabetes UK
Diabetes UK’s new fundraising website, Diabetes Challenge, is a fun and interactive site where anybody can challenge themselves or someone else to raise funds for Diabetes UK.
Challenges can be anything from swimming 100 lengths to going out in fancy dress, to making a colleague a cuppa everyday for a week - anything goes!
Diabetes Challenge also provides a focal point for people taking part in marathons, fun runs, overseas challenges and other events on behalf of Diabetes UK to raise money towards their fundraising targets.
Visitors to Diabetes Challenge can access progress updates on all live challenges, and see who's set up a challenge, what they're doing, who's donating and how much has been raised so far. The site also links up with social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr.
Challenge yourself - or someone else
"By challenging yourself or someone else you will help to raise vital funds for the 3 million people in the UK living with diabetes, while having loads of fun," said Graeme Manuel, Digital Media Manager at Diabetes UK.
"And every penny really will count - because one of the best things about Diabetes Challenge is that donations made to challenges are commission-free, compared to those charged by intermediary fundraising sites.
"So - challenge yourself to make a real difference to people with diabetes."
