Contracts

  • Any voluntary group wishing to sign a contract on behalf of the group or Diabetes UK must first obtain permission from the Board of Trustees, via the Voluntary Group team at the Central Office.
  • Specific examples include contracts with events companies, professional fundraisers, commercial participants, trading companies or sponsorship deals.

Decide whether you are seeking a donation from a company or sponsorship. A donation receives no public acknowledgement. If you are allowing a company to receive acknowledgement for its money, for example, the company name and/ or logo on your newsletter, then you are entering into a sponsorship agreement with the company.

Please note that your voluntary group must draw up a contract and both the voluntary group and the company must sign the contract for all sponsorship agreements, whatever the amount of money involved. The Diabetes UK Corporate Relations team can provide you with some simple standard contracts that you can amend and make relevant to your sponsorship agreement.
