Organising events

Thank you for deciding to support Diabetes UK – we will be delighted to help you with advice and materials. Events are one of the favourite ways for people to support organisations. The most successful fundraising events are those organised by someone enthusiastic about both the type of event and the charity to be helped.

People see events as an attractive and easy way of raising money, but sometimes events fail to raise the sums hoped for. In order to organise an event, it is important to have an objective, an appealing idea and enough people who would share and support your vision. Please note that fundraising is not a charitable activity, so charitable funds cannot be used to bail out flops or underwrite failures.
