Welcome to week two of your training plan
During your weekly training plan we will focus on helping you reach your fundraising target by providing hints and tips, while also providing advice on how to reach that fitness level required to complete the half marathon.
We will be sending out training plans for the next 14 weeks via email, if at any point you do not receive your email please contact us.
Fundraising Advice
If you work for a large company why not ask your employer to match fund your
sponsorship pound for pound?
Doing this lets you raise twice as much money and its also a chance for your employer to get some great publicity - maybe also suggest that they get in touch with the press.
If you are considering matched funding, it is best to start the ball rolling and get an agreement at the beginning of your fundraising process.
Check List
- Have you set up an online donation page?
- Have you emailed your contacts both at home and at work?
- Have you got your sponsor form on you at all times?
- Have you let your friends and family on your social networking sites know your online fundraising page?
Remember to set up your online donation page using our Challenge website.
Diabetes facts and stats
Throughout the weeks we will provide you with some statistics and information about diabetes to help your fundraising message have a greater impact.
This week: In the UK, one person is diagnosed with diabetes every three minutes and three people die from its complications every hour.
Gift Aid
On the sponsorship forms and on the online donations, your supporters will be asked if they would like to Gift Aid their donation. Please ensure that as many people as possible tick the Gift Aid box plus give their full name and address (postcodes are essential) as it allows us to claim an extra 28p for every pound raised. It doesn’t cost your supporters any extra to Gift Aid their donation.
