Abseils and zip slides
Abseils and zip slides are daring and exhilarating ways to raise funds - two very different descents, all to help raise funds for Diabetes UK.
If you are looking to take part in one of these adrenaline fuelled activities, we have some exciting events coming up in 2013!
Zipslides
Gateshead
BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art - 29th & 30th June 2013
Price: £45
BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead is a landmark building and ZSUK has delivered successful zips there on 6 previous occasions. The slide starts 40m up, from the roof of BALTIC, and travels 280m diagonally across the River Tyne before finishing on the Newcastle quayside.
Glasgow
Xscape Braehead
Price: £35
cape Braehead offers a fantastic zip slide. The launch point is 40m high on the outside of the building, followed by a 250m zip across the car park. Xscape is the ultimate family entertainment destination combining ‘real’ snow slopes with urban and lifestyle retailers, cool bars and restaurants, cinema, family attractions and extreme activities.
Newport
Newport Transporter Bridge
Price: £40
Newport Transporter Bridge continues to be one of the largest temporary zip slides in the country. Participants launch themselves from a point 50m high on the bridge, before sliding 320m into Coronation Park. This will be our fourth event at this impressive venue.
WARNING: Participants will need to be relatively fit and able as they will need to climb the 11 sets of steep steel stairs, which is the only way to access the 50m launch point on the bridge.
Manchester
Imperial War Museum North
Price: £45
The Imperial War Museum North offers a thrilling 250m zip across the Manchester Ship Canal, landing in front of the Lowry. Participants will launch themselves from the Air Shard at a height of 30m

Manchester
Manchester Velodrome Abseil - 10th March 2013
Price: £35
Join this abseil event for fun or you can go the extra mile and fundraise for your own choice of charity. The Manchester Velodrome is a great winter venue as its all indoors so not affected by the weather!
The Trafford Centre - 22nd September 2013
Price: £35
Join this abseil event down the Bell Tower at The Trafford Centre!
The 60m tower has a commanding view of Manchester, the Peak District, Cheshire and surrounding counties
Walsall
New Art Gallery - 5th October 2013
Price: £35
Join this charity abseil event in the heart of the town and fundraise for your own chosen charity.

Diabetes UK is pleased to offer you this exhilarating and unique experience of zipping 230m across the river Tyne.
The zip slide starts from the Newcastle side of the bridge and travels diagonally across the River Tyne, finishing at HMS Calliope on the Gateshead side.
