Influence the work of the leading charity for people with diabetes
Diabetes UK has created an innovative way of enabling people to influence its work. The Involvement Network provides a flexible mechanism by which people living with diabetes can engage in decision-making.
The Involvement Network was established at the end of 2008 and has a diverse membership who, on a fortnightly basis, are sent a selection of involvement opportunities. The Network is flexible, with no fixed meetings, to enable members to choose how and when they contribute, based on their availability and interests.
Members of the Network have worked with staff from a wide range of teams and project areas. This includes the Policy, Healthcare & Policy, Governance and Media teams, as well as some of our National offices. They have improved the outcome of the Charity’s work by ensuring that the voice of people living with diabetes is embedded in our decisions.
Much of the work members get involved with is done entirely by email, although there are a number of face-to-face and over-the-phone activities as well.
If this is something you would like to get involved in, please contact the User Involvement Facilitator on 0207 424 1000 or email governance@diabetes.org.uk for more information. Alternatively download, complete and return the application form (PDF, 114KB) to:
