Volunteering for Diabetes UK

There are many ways you can volunteer for Diabetes UK in our offices. If you want to know more, or if no office volunteer vacancies are available at the moment, simply contact the Volunteer Development Team and we can help find the right opportunity for you:

Volunteering in Diabetes UK offices

You can volunteer at our central office, based in Camden Town, London, or at any of our regional offices. There are many areas within the organisation which could benefit from your time and experience.

The sorts of roles which volunteers are currently involved in include: organising events, providing administration support, researching and gathering information, and helping with enquiries.

Our office volunteers bring with them a vast range of skills and experience. Diabetes UK has a very flexible approach to your commitment: we want you to be able give the time that suits you while making the best use of the skills and experience you have.

Equally, the length of volunteer service varies considerably. Some volunteers stay with us for many years. Others only have a short amount of time to offer and move on to other things. Some posts are more full-time because of the nature of the role while others are more flexible.

Our current opportunities

When we have vacancies for office volunteers, they will be displayed below, with a link to the full description and downloadable application form. If no vacancies are displayed, please watch this space, as opportunities do arise regularly.

Fundraising Events Volunteer

We are looking for someone to help support the promotion, organisation and delivery of Diabetes UK’s largest fundraising event in London, the London Bridges Challenge on 17 November 2013. This will involve promoting the walk to new and existing supporters, sourcing items for walkers goody bags, managing the registration process, providing support with pre-event logistics, support on the day and post-event round-up.

London Region Office Volunteer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to provide administrative support to the London Region. You will be focusing on Health Awareness events, the London Newsletter and NHS engagement. Training and support provided. Flexible hours.

Corporate Partnerships Volunteer

We are looking for a committed individual to take on the role of Corporate Partnerships Volunteer. The role will support the Corporate Partnerships Team in generating income from companies at Diabetes UK’s Head Office in Camden, London.

Voice Artist Volunteer

Overall purpose of volunteer role:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and organised individual who would enjoy supporting the charity’s Creative Services team. You will be recording spoken versions of our magazines and guides, which are made available on CD and online, and preparing them for production.

Experience of recording spoken-English would be really useful but isn’t essential.
