About the Corporate Partnerships Team

The Corporate Partnerships team builds mutually beneficial partnerships with companies in order to generate much needed funds for the work of Diabetes UK. This includes Charity of the Year, sponsorship and cause related marketing relationships. We currently work in partnership with companies including Tesco, Bupa and Boots.  

Main elements of volunteer role

The role of Corporate Partnerships volunteer will be broad and varied but the main tasks will include:

  • Conducting online research on companies and potential partners
  • Benchmarking Diabetes UK’s corporate activity against other charities of a similar size
  • Competitor analysis of other charities’ corporate fundraising mechanisms, including employee fundraising and CRM.
  • Supporting members of the corporate team with administrative tasks as required
  • Implementing and managing a ‘thank you’ programme for Boots pharmacies
  • Carrying out administrative tasks to support Bupa employee fundraising

Timescales

We hope that you will be able to volunteer for:

  • 1-2 days per week – ideally Wednesday and/or Friday. However this can be negotiated to suit the situation. Additional hours could be negotiated on an ad hoc basis by agreement with both parties and are available if requested.
  • Initially for a 3 month period with the opportunity for extension. It will be reviewed after 2 months.
  • Selected candidates will be asked to come in for an informal interview to discuss the role on w/c 2nd September

What we are looking for

  • Someone able to commit to the agreed hours and provide reliable support
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Well developed research skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills and professionalism
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
