About the London Team

The London Team aims to influence healthcare provision and improve services for people with diabetes at a local level, together with raising awareness. We support a network of volunteers across London who raise awareness of Diabetes and improve services through events and campaigns.

Main elements of volunteer role:

  • Maintain office materials stock – reviewing stock on a weekly basis and ordering new stock where necessary
  • Preparing mailings for Health Awareness Events, including printing and packaging materials
  • Assist the Regional Support Officer with the planning, preparation, printing and distribution of the London Region Newsletter
  • Assist with publicising NHS campaigns by researching GP surgeries and sending campaign materials out, sending emails and some telephone calls
  • Input Diabetes Voices and Service Champion applications onto CIS (the organisation’s database) where necessary
  • Assist the London Region Manager with NHS Engagement work including filing, ordering materials and other administrative tasks
  • Assist the fundraising team with admin tasks where necessary including data entry, filing, event list management, preparing packs and ordering materials
  • General Office Admin

Timescales

We hope that you will be able to volunteer for:

  • 1 day a week. Hours can be negotiated

What we are looking for:

  • Good administrative skills
  • Good communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good IT skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office programmes
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Some experience of database work is desirable
  • Someone able to commit to the agreed hours and provide reliable support
