Diabetes support, information, activities and events
Diabetes UK voluntary groups are support groups that offer people living with diabetes a chance to meet and share experiences with others. They are all run by volunteers and typically meet on a monthly basis, often with a speaker on a topic such as diet or exercise.
As well providing support and information, voluntary groups also get involved in fundraising, campaigning to improve local diabetes services, planning social events and outings and running awareness-raising activities.
Parents, children and young people
There are also some specialist groups - for parents, children and young people with diabetes.
Find your local group - or start your own
We have over 350 groups throughout the UK, so you should be able to find one near you, by visiting the Local Support Groups page...
...and if not, why not start one yourself? If there isn't a voluntary group in your area we can give you help and resources to set one up. We will also support you in your activities, by providing guidance, training and publications.

If you need medical advice
Please note that voluntary groups cannot give medical advice. They can only talk about diabetes from their own experiences. If you need medical advice please contact your local diabetes specialist nurse, or local diabetes centre.
