Brand toolkit
We have designed a brand toolkit specifically for voluntary groups, which tells you everything you need to know about using the Diabetes UK brand for your group. It contains easy-to-follow, step-by-step guidance on how to apply the brand to everything from newsletters, posters and programmes to websites, Facebook pages and email signatures.
If you have any questions about the toolkit then please contact your local office for guidance.

Safeguarding
Diabetes UK offers free advice, training and criminal records checks to help support voluntary groups working with children and vulnerable adults.
Training
Diabetes UK safeguarding training helps to protect your group and any children or vulnerable adults in your care. It covers the basics of safeguarding, as well as our specific policies and Code of Behaviour. It is held at a time and place convenient for your group and lasts for approximately two hours. Refresher training is needed every four years.
If your group runs any events involving unaccompanied children or vulnerable adults (i.e. parents/carers are not present for all, or part of, the event) then you must make sure that at least two members of your group have attended Diabetes UK safeguarding training, and that trained members are present at any event. If you are a children’s or family group, or run events for accompanied children, Diabetes UK recommends that you also receive training.
Criminal records checks
A disclosure is an impartial and confidential document that details an individual’s criminal record, and where applicable, details those who are banned from working with children and vulnerable adults.
If members of your group are working with unaccompanied children or vulnerable adults, then they must complete a criminal records check through Diabetes UK, even if they have already completed a check through another organisation. Please contact the relevant Diabetes UK team below for further information and criminal records application forms:
