How do I become a user representative?
If you are interested, or would like further information, you should contact your local PCT.
Alternatively, if you don't know who to contact, call your local diabetes clinic or GP practice and they should be able to tell you, who is the best person to contact.
Diabetes UK regional offices or the Volunteer Development team should also be able to help signpost you to the right person. Email any queries to user.involvement@diabetes.org.uk.
As well as having user representatives some areas also have a patient reference group, forum or council. This is a group of people with diabetes who get to feed in their views to the diabetes planning group without attending the planning group meetings – perhaps via a representative or by email.
Before you take the plunge and become a user rep, read our checklist.
