Winners' stories

Winners' stories

Meet our winners

More than 10,000 people are now playing the Diabetes UK Weekly Lottery – and 100s of them are winning prizes every week.  Will you be one of them?

Mr Ladds

£5,000 winner

Mr Ladds from Cambridgeshire was the £5,000 winner in our first quarterly Superdraw.

He took part to support Diabetes UK because he has had diabetes in his family all his life – so his £5,000 cheque came as a wonderful surprise.

Mrs Ross

£1,000 Christmas bonus

Mrs Ross from Hertfordshire supports Diabetes UK because her younger son had mellitus and she knows what a dangerous condition it can be.

She spent her £1,000 winnings on Christmas presents for family and friends.

Glad she joined

Mrs Taylor has had diabetes for the past 20 years.  She joined the Weekly Draw and then forgot about it until she had a phone call telling her she had won £5,000.  “How glad I was that I took the time to enter,” she says.

They won and you could too

Mrs C Bean

Mrs C Bean of Scarborough - £1,000 winner in our third weekly draw

She has been a member of Diabetes UK for eleven years and joined the Weekly Lottery to support our work, but never expected to win.

She couldn't believe it when she opened the envelope and saw the cheque. Now she says she is going to put it in the bank until she can spend it on something special.

Mrs A Crosby of Warrington - £1,000 first prize in our fifth weekly draw

She used to play the National Lottery, but she'd never won more than £10 – so when the Diabetes UK Weekly Lottery came along, she thought she would play that instead and put her money to a cause she cares about.

Naturally, Mrs Crosby was thrilled when her husband checked the website for winners and found her name was right at the top of the list.

She's decided to put her winnings towards a really wonderful 40th wedding anniversary celebration for her and her husband. Her family couldn't be more delighted, and now they are joining the Weekly Lottery too.

100 people win a prize every week –- and you could be one of them.
