Structured education courses
Living with diabetes becomes a lifelong learning process once you’re diagnosed. NHS guidelines now recommend that people with diabetes (Type 1 or 2) be offered patient education programmes, officially known as ‘structured education’.
Diabetes UK advocates that all people with diabetes, whether recently diagnosed or those with pre-existing diabetes, should receive the structured education and support they need to enable them to manage their own diabetes.
For more information about structured education and its different programmes, as well as help with choosing a course, please visit our Structured education section.
When we have details of specific courses, run by other organisations, we will list them here. If no forthcoming courses are listed below, please check back later - new ones are added regularly.
Forthcoming courses
Chirk Hospital, Brynteg Memorial Hall, Cartrefle Community Council Buildings and in the town centre at Ty Avow
The Patient Education Initiative for patients with Type 2 Diabetes (X-PERT) is a free six week programme for people with type 2 diabetes to increase knowledge skills and confidence in managing diabetes.
