Children with diabetes at school

What all staff need to know

This section of the site provides schools with the information needed to give support to a child with diabetes. However, it can only give general information. For advice and information about individual children, schools should always involve the parents or carers of the child with diabetes and their diabetes care team. The paediatric diabetes specialist nurse (PDSN), who will be a member of the diabetes care team, will be a central point of contact and should be able to advise the school.
