Publications for carers of children

Diabetes UK has produced a magazine – From Tots to Teens – to help you take on these challenges. Written with the assistance of paediatric diabetes consultants, specialist nurses and child psychologists, the magazine includes helpful hints and guidance from other parents of children with diabetes.

Straightforward, practical advice is given for a whole range of the situations facing you as the parent of newly diagnosed child: from medical consultations and getting to know the care team, to dealing with your child’s school; from eating to exercise, etc. Lists of useful contact addresses and telephone numbers are there to help you find your feet.

In addition, the magazine provides insight into some of feelings you might experience faced with getting to grips with your child’s diabetes.
