When you are better

When you are better

Blood glucose monitorWhen you have recovered from your illness, your blood glucose levels may take some time to return to normal. Occasionally, your treatment may need to be permanently altered in order to regain control (for example starting tablet treatment when previously a healthy diet and regular physical activity alone were sufficient). So, it is a good idea to continue to do extra tests even when you are feeling well until your blood glucose levels return to their ‘pre illness’ pattern. If your diabetes continues to be uncontrolled, contact your GP or a member of your diabetes care team.
