During your pregnancy

Trimester three

Your baby's development

  • Brain grows rapidly during this stage.
  • As the baby continues to grow it places more demands on your body.
  • A few weeks before delivery, the baby's head moves downward to sit low in your pelvis.

Your main goals

Tick Check your blood glucose fasting and one hour after meals (and before bedtime if treated with insulin).

Tick Follow diet and exercise guidelines, stop smoking and reduce or stop drinking alcohol.

Tick Attend all antenatal clinic appointments and phone your clinic or GP any time you have a question or concern.

Tick Try to rest when your baby is 'resting'. You may find that you rest more easily when the baby is not kicking or moving around.
