Infection – a disease caused by microorganisms
Microorganisms – very small living material which can cause infection; the most common examples are bacteria, viruses or fungi

Plaque – a build-up of fat, cholesterol, calcium, and other substances found in the blood. Over time, plaque hardens and narrows the arteries

Ulcer – an open sore on the skin caused by destruction of the tissues. May become infected
