I'm Amie and well I suffer from diabetes and coeliac disease! I read Emma's story and it touched me. The story of her wake up call. I have been through similar stuff myself.
I'm 15 and I was diagnosed with diabetes when I was six. It's been hard but I was getting there. When I was seven, I got diagnosed with coeliac disease. I wasn't putting on enough weight.
My diabetes is stressing me out. It's beginning to get me down. Coeliac disease and diabetes is becoming a bit of a struggle. I don't do enough blood tests. I've been slipping with when I do my injections. I know the consequences but I feel it wouldnt happen to me??
I just want to be normal. I complain, winge, moan. I know everyone's trying to help me and I want to turn a new leaf but I'm beggining to struggle sometimes. I need some people to talk to so when I heard about this I instantly wanted to join. Anyone in similar situations?

I am diabetic and coeliac and after being diagnosed with diabetes I was fine and felt well within a few weeks. Ok injecting isn't the easiest in school and well, there you go. I learnt to live with that and now I am adapting to coeliacs and feel worse after eating gluten free food than I did before. The doctors didn't really explain if there were no symptoms, why do I have to eat this food?

Hey, I'm the same age as you and I have diabetes and coeliac disease too. I know how you feel. The only thing which is different I use an insulin pump. I have more freedom with the pump but I still get this from my parents and my nurse and doctor "Test your blood sugars more". I hate the coeliac disease - it's so hard. If you need to speak to anyone - I'm willing to. xxx

Urm hey I'm 13 but I feel exactly the same. I have been struggling and being too high all the time and I can't seem to be bothered to deal with diabates :S
Ahh I have a checkup tomorrow and it ain't gunu be good :L
I always complain to people that they don't understand but they don't! My mates are just like, "Here have some lucozade, it's so nice" and I'm like, "Ermm I'm diabetic!", but i have it sometimes :S
I get really scared of going low so I think I've been keeping myself high. I don't want to be blind later on in life so I'm gunu have to take more care. :)x

I'm in the same situation. I was diagnosed at 11, and I was diagnosed with coeliac disease at 12. I was okay with my control at first, but over the past two years it's slipped and I've ended up with high average glucose results. I get really nervous before clinic because I dread getting another bad result. My coeliacs is the easiest part for me though because I've found alternatives to things like bread and pasta, just in supermarkets, and I just usually ask in restaurants and they're usually happy to help.
