At work
Once you’ve got the job . . .
... give the people you’ll be working with a simple explanation about what to do if you go hypo and why you might suddenly need to take some glucose tablets or drink Lucozade.
Take control
Don’t expect others to look out for your hypos. Don’t use diabetes as an excuse to avoid work.
If your diabetes is poorly controlled, then you should get help from your diabetes team. Employers will be more sympathetic if they know you are trying to sort things out.
