Medication and Driving

When applying for a license (either new or renewing) you must declare your diabetes in the medical section.

If you already have a license and are then diagnosed, it is advisable but not the law to inform the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).

If you have diabetes that is treated with diet or tablets as well as another relevant condition or complication, you must by law, inform the DVLA.

If you have diabetes that is treated with insulin, you must, by law, inform the DVLA.

For more information, contact the DVLA or visit the DVLA website
